These days, me and cold weather are just not a good mix.  Growing up, I loved snow.  It was so much fun.  We would go out in the morning, go sledding all day, make a snowman, have snowball battles and would be forced to come in the house to thaw out.

When we came back in and dumped the layers of clothes, boots, hats, gloves all over the place, we knew my Mom would have a pan of real homemade hot chocolate simmering on the stove waiting for us.  None of that stuff in those little packs, this was the real deal!  So creamy and hot, it was just what we needed to thaw out.

That sure was back in the day because now, I really think I could hibernate like a bear during winter.

However, I must admit it is definitely a beautiful picture from Mother Nature.  I am ok with it as long as I am sitting in the house looking out the window sipping on this delicious Peppermint Hot Chocolate.

This hot chocolate can be made kid friendly by using pure vanilla extract instead of the Peppermint Schnapps which of course is the way my Mom prepared it.   But when you want that little extra kick, go for the Peppermint Schnapps.
